THANKSGIVING,
What are we really thankful for? This “delicious” holiday is
one that we all should use to examine our hearts. What is really the
most important thing to you when you consider Thanksgiving this
year? I am most thankful for Jesus my Saviour. I know my sins
are forgiven, and I am on my way to Heaven.
In Luke 17:17, Jesus is telling the disciples a story about the
10 lepers who came to Him for healing. They were desparate. They
knew that Jesus was their last hope. The Bible says that Jesus healed
all 10 of them. Can you imagine what a sight that must have been?
No doubt they all were dancing and singing. But Jesus pointed out
to his disciples that all 10 were cleansed of their disease, but only one
returned to give thanks! Verse 17 says, “where are the nine”?
I wonder if sometimes we don’t take the blessings of God for
granted. Instead of offering Praise and Gratitude to God for what He
has done, we simply just forget. I recently did a good deed for a friend
who was unable to do for himself. Three months later I received a
thank-you and an apology for being three months late in saying Thanks.
My first thought was, “at least he wrote, even if three months late.”
We can all be guilty of being late, but there is no excuse for not
being thankful. We should all have an “attitude of gratitude” for what
blessings we have been given. Let’s check out our attitude for just a
moment, and ask ourselves, “am I truly thankful for what I have been
blessed with?” Or, “do I simply take for granted all the blessings of
life?” This is truly something to ponder and check-out.
We pray this is the best Thanksgiving ever for you and your
family. Let’s develop a constant “attitude of gratitude”, and let’s
return and say thank you Lord. Lord you are so good!
